Ecosystem of tokenized financial products · Ondo DAO governance; not a claim on OUSG or USDY

Ondo

Understand the asset, its mechanisms and its limitations.

One ecosystem, different rights

The same ecosystem can contain very different tokens. ONDO is the governance token of the Ondo DAO and Flux Finance. It is not an OUSG fund share or a USDY note. Holding ONDO does not by itself create a claim on the assets held for those products or entitle the holder to their yield.

Read the product, not just the brand

Ondo Finance documents tokenized financial products separately. OUSG provides exposure to a portfolio focused on short-term US government instruments; USDY is a different note structure. Each product has its own issuer, eligibility, documentation and redemption route. A common logo is not evidence of common legal rights.

Three layers to examine

Consider three layers when reading a product: the token recorded on a network, the documents defining the holder’s rights, and the assets and service providers supporting those rights. A successful blockchain transfer confirms an on-chain operation. It does not independently verify a custodian’s assets, a valuation or the holder’s eligibility.

A transfer is not a redemption

A token may move outside banking hours while cash settlement or a particular redemption route still has conditions and capacity limits. Check the exact product documents rather than treating all tokenized assets as stablecoins. For this guide, the important question is not “Which token has the best yield?” but “What does this specific token actually entitle its holder to do?”

Read the explanation

Start with the identifier, then read the relevant documents. ONDO gives a governance role. OUSG and USDY have distinct product structures and access conditions. To assess a financial claim, identify who owes what, to whom, and under which redemption terms. A token balance is one item of evidence; it cannot replace the documents establishing a claim.
